About the event
What in the World Is Buddhism? is an introduction to the foundations of Buddhist thought and practice, designed for curious beginners and those seeking a refresher. Through a mix of teaching, guided meditation, and open discussion, we’ll explore where Buddhism comes from, what it teaches about suffering and freedom, and how its practices can be meaningfully woven into modern, busy lives.
Led by longtime practitioner David Dixon, the day emphasizes meditation within the context of the Noble Eightfold Path, with plenty of practical guidance on posture, breath, and working with common challenges. Expect a grounded, sutta-based approach, exposure to different Buddhist traditions, and space to ask questions, try out meditation gear, and connect the teachings to everyday life.
