Together, We Rise Again

In the fall of 2024, not long after the COVID-19 pandemic impacted Quietude, hurricane Helene brought catastrophic floods to WNC. Flat Creek crested over its banks forcing Quietude residents to evacuate. As we began the journey of recovery, one question permeated the land, the community, and our hearts: what's next?

As it did for so many, hurricane Helene asked us to take a step back and revision the future from a place of greater clarity and devotion to what really matters. With the help of our incredible community, we rooted more firmly in our mission to create a space where healing would be accessible to all.

Recognizing the need for long-term housing in our area, we shifted from offering primarily short-term housing for retreat guests to building our micro-village: a community of residences for practitioners dedicated to the healing arts and for individuals helping to maintain, develop and run Quietude. We began offering donation-based and sliding-scale retreats, workshops and community events with the intention of making the healing arts accessible to all.

This year we will celebrate Quietude's 100-year anniversary - a century of peace, reflection, and renewal on this sacred land. Your generosity will help us honor this milestone with love and care ensuring Quietude continues to serve as a sanctuary for generations to come.

How You Can Help

Donations may be made by: cash, check (payable to Inevitable Grace, Inc. dba Quietude), PayPal, or Venmo. Currently, donations are not tax deductible. We are looking into developing a nonprofit arm so we can continue to reach those who can't afford healing arts programming and services.
